Kindergarten

(5 – 6 years old)

At this stage, our children are excited about learning and raring to go! The world around them is filled with wonderful things to discover, examine, analyses and inquire about.

Our educators often adopt a project approach by providing opportunities for experimentation and creativity and collaborative discussions among Kindlers

We encourage holistic development and learning through:

Work with children to hone gross motor skills to throw, catch and kick objects

Help children develop critical thinking skills to resolve conflicts

Encourage children to actively participate in conversations by interacting with others in non-routine ways

Encourage creativity by providing children with opportunities to build new and unique objects from scratch

Strengthen children’s ability to develop fine motor skills such as actively connecting objects (e.g. blocks), which go together

Improve children’s problem-solving skills by providing opportunities to repeat manipulations of certain activities (e.g. fitting a key into a lock)

Help stimulate logical thinking through pattern recognition categorisation of objects, and more complex numeracy concepts

Support children’s ability to understand and interpret meaning from texts and reading materials
